How to transform:

• Feed Petto Bean;

• Reach Level 10;

• Reaching level 10, you can transform Petto Bean into an adult Petto.

Keep Petto always happy, and reach new levels daily. Reaching level 10, players get a play-earn badge and enable daily APES payments. However, if the Petto falls into the overall red level of happiness, the player is back to level 0.

Petto needs your care every hour, otherwise, you lose the score and levels. During the night local time (from 10pm to 9am) the scores remain always the same, and in the morning you need again to give attention to your Petto.

Beans can transform into one of the following Pettos:

🔴ULTRA Pettos - [ウルトラ]. Rarity: extremely rare. Real animals that are on the red list of endangered species. The number of available Ultra Pettos is directly linked to their actual population in real life. Ultra Pettos have distinct powers that are represented visually and by their stats.

🟠KAIKI Pettos - [怪奇] Rarity: rare to extremely rare. Fictional characters, supernatural beings that don't exist in real life. Mythical creatures originate from ancient mythologies, stories, folklore, films, etc.

🟢KIMI Pettos - [君/きみ] Rarity: frequent to rare. Animal races that we all know from life such as Cats, Dogs, or any other animal you can think of.

Play-to-earn reward for each player is an equal part of the total daily play-to-earn reward distribution for all the players. Play-to-earn reward cannot exceed 50 APES.

Petto Camp is a the precursor mini-game of the Pettoverse. Play Petto Camp and earn APES. Keeping Pettos always happy, players reach new levels daily. Reaching level 10, players get a play-earn badge and enable daily APES payments. However, if the Petto falls into the overall red level of happiness, the player is back to level 0.

1. No lock-up stake - users claim daily reward (0.01%).

2. Lock up stake - users claim rewards after the defined period. The longer APES tokens are locked up, the higher the respective share of the pool and, therefore, the higher rewards. 3 months - 0.03%; 6 months - 0.04%; 9 months - 0.06%; 12 months - 0.08%.

Our Motivation

Main point that unified our team around the Petto idea is that all of us simply love animals! This is why we have decided to include a social impact element and combine each team member’s motivation, empathy, creativity, and technical skills to create a unique social game that positively impacts animal well-being. Inspired by true passion for animals and making the world a better place for all generations, we want to show that people can have fun and do good at the same time.

What challenges do we see with traditional approaches?

Despite a rising quantity of initiatives around the problem of saving flora and fauna, often people tend to avoid direct interaction with global problems due to psychological pressure and discomfort “Out of sight out of mind”. We want to approach the topic from a different angle and focus on creating an entertaining and fun experience, which has an impact logic built in. We aim to attract the attention of people worldwide to the problem of certain species being close to extinction and generate financial support for their conservation. Petto makes it possible to build global awareness and accumulate positive impact on the environment through the game process of every single individual.

Gamification as an alternative approach.

The main goal of Petto as a social game is to create a continuous flow of support that is used for protection and conservation of endangered animals. The Gamification approach allows going beyond a one-time donation, but thanks to the permanent process of interaction among the game community, creates a cumulative flow of support.

We have set up the game logic and a smart contract that ensures that 15% of all game proceeds will be directly accumulated in a dedicated animal support account and released to animal conservation organizations. They actively work towards protecting Indian wildlife, conserving habitat, studying biodiversity, conducting research and creating alternative and sustainable livelihoods for erstwhile communities that depend on wildlife for sustenance.

To make sure the financial support has the biggest impact and is fully transparent, we want to work with trusted experts and use blockchain technology. Experts in animal conservation who will guide us and support us in making the right choices for the animal support activities and allocation of funds will be acting as advisors.

With blockchain, we can fully disclose and make the entire game transaction history transparent to the general public for everyone to see.

All financial support will be transferred over the Ethereum blockchain to so-called Ethereum wallets, which will be identified and publicly disclosed on our website and the channels (Twitter) of all participating parties and partners. All fund transfers related to donations require full disclosure of all wallet owners. If the funds flow to an organization that protects animals, and those funds are transferred further, all involved addresses and their owners have to be disclosed. This is a key onboarding requirement for conservation organizations or individuals.

We are committed to the net zero goal, sustainability and building a better future. We are aware of the carbon footprint of blockchains. Therefore we are working with Vlinder, who is supporting us with the accounting to offset the entire CO2 footprint and have selected the Polygon Blockchain, which has the lowest CO2 impact.

Pettos are game characters that can be mythical or real animals. In the case of real animals, we are creating a specific category of “Ultra Rare” animals and exist as limited characters throughout the entire game. The availability of the Ultra Rare characters is based on the IUCN list for critically endangered species. Every game character which is based on an endangered species is ultra rare and only available in the exact number of the animals remaining in the wild. With this approach we want to raise the problem awareness and the value for such characters at the same time. The game character selection process is a crucial part of our approach. We are using the information provided by the IUCN and the “Red List of Threatened Species”, to determine the status and availability of each species.

Endangered species will represent the most unique and rare game characters in the whole Pettoverse. The initial simple gameplay of nurturing the acquired pet will evolve into a social game experience where the players can interact with their pettos and participate in different in-game activities. Through that additional financial support can be created for animal conservation.

For example, there are only 370 Sumatra Tigers left on the planet. In this case, the game would only have 370 of the specific tiger characters, and the proceeds from the game character sales would be directed to selected animal conservation organizations.

Can I use my Mobile Phone for minting and Playing?

Because there are no metamask extensions for mobile phone browsers, the process on the phone is a bit different for buying a petto right now. It would only work with the metamask app. We are planning to integrate the WalletConnect service, which would allow using any browser.
